Norn9 Guide: Yuiga Kakeru

Wow! We’re finally on the final route. I’m both excited and sad to finish the story. I may have mentioned this before, but I’m a little sad that there isn’t a secret route that ties all of the others together. I noticed this in Code: Realize, but the start and stop points are somewhat inconsistent. While all three of the locked routes more or less cover every part of the story. For Koharu’s section, I did Senri > Masamune > Kakeru.

Prologue

Go to the roof with Ms. Weirdo

Chapter 1

Tell him where Senri is (10s)

Pair Select: Yuiga Kakeru

Chapter 2

Reply honestly

He’s… Not joking

Chapter 3

Be happy

Don’t eat (10s timed)

Watch

Chapter 4

Point it out

We aren’t really friends yet

You smile that empty smile

Reach for his back (10s timed)

Chapter 5

Look at Yuiga

Just be the real you (Cheer up! Bad end/no CG)

(Make a save)Stay close

Chapter 6

Open the door (4s timed)

Act embarrassed

And that will get you the true ending! I enjoyed Kakeru’s route. I still wish I had done Natsuhiko’s route last, since it was my favorite, but ending I’m glad I ended on Kakeru’s route rather than finishing with Masamune’s, which I had considered.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bad Ending
As always, load up your save and reverse all the choices you made. I was worried because I had saved a little later than usual, but the last choice in Chapter 5 is just barely early enough to get you the bad ending.
Step away
Don’t open the door (or don’t choose anything, either way)
Smile brightly
Don’t forget to purchase Kakeru’s side story from the Norn Store for 110 points and your last CG.
Closing Thoughts
No matter which route you finish, it will still feel like it has resolution because you only get the Epilogue after finishing all the other routes. Unsurprisingly, it returns you to Sorata’s point of view. I spent a chunk of time wondering why the story begins with Sorata at all, but the Epilogue does a good job of explaining it and giving some finality to the story where the other routes basically just stopped. I keep lamenting this, but it’s really too bad Sorata wasn’t a secret route, haha. Seeing Sorata all grown up was pretty neat and I wouldn’t have minded seeing more of that story. More than anything though, I think I’m just sad it’s over.
Norn9 Guide: Toya Masamune
masamune-norn9I know I’m supposed to do Kakeru’s route before Masamune’s, but I really wanted to leave Kakeru’s for last, haha. I honestly somewhat considered doing them both at the same time. I think after I finish this, I will write a detailed story summary to piece together all the different routes. Though I do like having so many routes and seeing things from the different characters’ points of view, I also like the secret route that ties the entire story together, which most otome have. Without that, I have a little trouble keeping track of the story between all these routes. I ended up doing Senri > Masamune > Kakeru for Koharu’s section.
Prologue
Go to the roof with Ms. Weirdo
Chapter 1
Tell him where Senri is (10s)
Pair Select: Masamune
Chapter 2
I’m fine
Chapter 3
Don’t listen and stay
Try baking by yourself
Chapter 4
That only I ever get to see them
Watch
(Make a save!) Go inside
Go for it
No regrets! Go for it!
(Load your save!) Don’t go inside. :3
Chapter 5 (Make a Save)
I was terrified
Do nothing
Chapter 6
I’ll be thinking about the future
Ruffle his hair
Watch
I’m not sure what difference this choice makes. I chose to lie…
Say nothing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Bad Ending

As always, load up your save and reverse the choices made earlier. The first time I played through, I made a save at Chapter 6 thinking it would be fine… but I was wrong and I ended up redoing the game from the beginning! You get a lot more affection from Chapter 4 in Masamune’s route compared to the others, so I think that’s the main reason a Chapter 6 save doesn’t work.

As always, Masamune’s side story can be purchased for 110 points from the Norn Store for your last CG and your 100% completion trophy for Masamune’s route.

Norn9 Guide: Ichinose Senri

posted in: Video Games | 2

senri-norn9Since I just finished Akito’s route, I decided to do Senri’s route next, just to see if there was any additional input to that storyline (there isn’t, haha). I also want to leave Kakeru’s for last, even though both Senri and Kakeru are recommended routes for Koharu, so I did Masamune’s route after this one…

One thing I did notice is that several of the choices are timed. Also, not making a choice gets you the same text as making the wrong choice. I made note of which choices were timed so you’d be prepared when it happens. ;o

Prologue

Go to the roof with Ms. Weirdo.

Chapter 1

Tell him where Senri is (10s Timed Response… but this is the only option. I wonder what happens if you don’t hit select)

Pair select: Ichinose Senri

Chapter 2

Reply honestly

Agree with Senri

Chapter 3

Yes, I would be

Let Senri take a break

Chapter 4

See Akito’s side

Say Senri’s name (10s Timed Response)

Chapter 5 (Make a save)

Resist

Don’t go with him

Chapter 6

Because I’m secure now

Watch

Yes

I’m sorry (10s Timed Response)

And that will get you max affection! As always, for the bad ending, just load up your chapter 5 save file and reverse all of your choices. This is one of those rare circumstances where you have too much affection by the end of Chapter 5 to get the good ending, so make sure you save before making any choices in Chapter 5.Your final CG comes from the Senri side story, purchased from the Norn Store for 110 points.

So far, my favorite thing about Koharu is how incredibly, blatantly honest she is. Her answers are pretty much exactly what you think they would be, unlike Mikoto who is too tsundere to give honest answers, haha. That being said, I wasn’t sure how she’d end up falling in love with Senri. Kakeru’s seems like the type to be naturally overtaken by Koharu’s straight-forward, kind-hearted personality. Masamune is the type to give care, and Koharu is the type that seems to need care, so I can imagine that route panning out as well. For Senri though… I suppose opposites attract, in more ways than one. 😛

Norn9 Guide: Shukuri Akito

posted in: Video Games | 2

akito-norn9I’ve only just started this route and I already have complex feelings about it. To be honest, I was looking forward to Akito’s route since neither Ron’s nor Heishi’s route touched on the conflict between Akito and Nanami and I’m really curious what happened between them. So, without further ado!

Prologue

Make breakfast with Nanami

Character Select: Shiranui Nanami (far left)

Chapter 1

Pair Select: Shukuri Akito (Middle)

Chapter 2

I like it

Watch

Chapter 3

Leave the bath

Wait for him

Women can handle it

Chapter 4

I don’t want to think that

I won’t wash my face

I am

Chapter 5

Say it

About the two of us

Then I won’t go

Chapter 6 (Make a aave)

Something long lasting

Don’t erase his memory

Chapter 7

Don’t add any herbs

And that marks the true ending route!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So unlike the other routes, Akito’s route actually has 3 endings with CGs.
Alternate Ending
Load up the save file and choose erase his memory. This will get you a new CG, but it doesn’t complete the route.
Bad Ending
Load up the save file again
Something perishable
Don’t erase his memory
I want to know more about you
Add a dash of herbs
Your last CG will come from the Akito side story, purchased from the Norn Store for 110 points!
Norn9 Guide: Muroboshi Ron
posted in: Video Games | 2
ron-norn9Ron is the secret route in Nanami’s segment, so you have to complete either Heishi or Akito’s routes before you can do his. The game (and I) recommend doing Heishi’s route. I did Heishi > Ron > Akito
Prologue
Make breakfast with Nanami
Character Select: Shiranui Nanami (far left)
Chapter 1
Pair Select: Muroboshi Ron
Chapter 2
Take some
I might actually stab you
Watch
Chapter 3
I don’t want to be a burden
I don’t want to live (purple up arrow?!)
I don’t know what it is (increases purple arrow?!) [It’s evil (increases affection)]. According to something I read online, the purple up arrow is more important than affection for the true ending…
Reluctantly agree to hold his hand
Chapter 4 (Make a save)
Get some common sense (purple) [It’s impossible (affection)]
Knock (purple)
Slap him awake (affection)
… & … (Purple) [Let me go & Kick him (affection)]
Chapter 5
Make a sarcastic comment
I’m fine (purple) [Your sunglasses are hurting me (affection)]
Watch
Chapter 6
Ron! (Affection) [Take me with you (bad end/CG)]
To get the true ending, I chose 3 purples and affection for the rest.
To get the bad ending, I chose all purples, and “Ron!” in chapter 6. Choosing “Take me with you” will always get a bad end.”
